To stay compatible with Steam’s Trade Protection and prevent abuse, DMarket introduced the following measures for exchange operations with trade-protected items:
Temporary Item Lock After Exchange
The item(s) you receive in exchange cannot be sold, listed, or re-traded for a short period.
This period matches the longest Trade Protection time from the items you gave away in the exchange.
Restrictions on Protected Items
You cannot give away an item under Trade Protection in an exchange unless:
* You are the person who originally deposited it on DMarket
* And therefore have the right to roll it back
Withdrawals and Balance Locks
* Items with no Trade Protection or Steam lock can be withdrawn immediately.
* Funds received from the exchange of trade-protected items may be temporarily locked until the protection period ends.
* Protected items are marked with timers so you may know when they become fully available(see Fig. 1)

* Any locked balance is displayed in a separate dropdown menu (see Fig. 2)

Rollbacks and Refunds
If a Steam trade is rolled back:
* DMarket automatically refunds the full amount of reversed items to the user’s balance.
* The refunded balance remains usable inside DMarket and may be temporarily locked until the end of trade protection.
